Picture quality is poor (supposedly 720p), but it's about the same as I'm getting on the PC. What DID work was an old adapter I had laying around from Amazon: "USB-C to Dual HDMI Adapter 4K TOPOINT Type C to HDMI Converter Compatible MacBook/MacBook Pro 2016/2017/2018, MacBook Air 2018 Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+/S8/S8+, Surface Book 2" ( ).Īfter the other adapter "just worked", I remembered that I've had this issue before with my MacBook Pro - certain adapters refusing to work with overhead projectors but this is the first time the official Apple adapter has been the problem (although other people have had problems: I think it had a rating of 1.5 stars on Apples site). No idea about the new version ( ), but good luck on that $70 gamble. Finally, I tried a different USB-C to HDMI adapter and discovered that the official Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter (old version, model A1621) does NOT work. I tried a bunch of different cables but this didn't make a difference. They work via HDMI on my PC but not on my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports). I've experienced the same issues connecting FatShark HDO's to a MacBook Pro.
